15 Feb 2023: The Peoples School at Tando Allahyar, operated by Taaleem Foundation, declared their first mid term result on 15^th of February 2023. It is an important time for the students to show their talent. The most treasured moments of this Day are the sincere arrangements, and the uncontrollable enthusiasm. It gives each student a chance to come forward and demonstrate what is good in academia. The Principal Ms. Shaheen Abdul Aziz distributed the prizes among high achievers, most punctual, regular and outperforming students. She delivered a motivating speech and advised all students to work harder in life to get sure success. She appreciated the staff who supports the academia in one or other way. The event ended with the National Anthem.

Taaleem Foundation is in the process of setting up Tele-Centers, along with e-Learning platforms and e-School services in 10 schools of Pir Chinasi in AJK. The project titled “Youth Empowerment and Energy Conservation for Supporting STEM, NRM, and Rural Development” is co-financed by TF and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB). Zong CMPak, a major telecom player, donated basic hardware for one of these schools, located at Khilla in AJK, through courtesy of the PAGE (Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education).

This inaugural event was graced by Ms. Saima Nazeer, the District Education Officer of Muzaffarabad, along with many guests, officers, TF staff and students. While Mr. Faisal Irfan Assistant Manager CSR represented Zong; Ms. Rabia Fajer represented PAGE. TF is hopeful that together with the financial and technical assistance of implementing partners and CSR support we will keep striving to serve the neglected segment of society.

14 December 2022 – the students of Peoples School, operated by TF visited the Topian Spirit Trust Academic Campus at Rashidabad. Such visits can be a powerful part of a professional learning plan and a critical part of a school transformation effort. Exposure to the world of work is an essential element for students towards their grooming. It gives kids the chance to experience cultures, respect differences, develop new friendships with their peers and thus broaden their horizons and knowledge. The kids visited  Rashidabad with great pleasure and enjoyed the visit and also learned many things.

Pakistan has rich and diverse cultures and different ethnic groups including the Punjabi, Kashmiri, Sindhi, Balochi, Pathan, and Balti etc. to celebrate the diversity of culture.

Sindhi Cultural Day is a popular Sindhi cultural festival. It is celebrated with traditional enthusiasm to highlight the centuries-old rich culture of Sindh. The day is celebrated each year during early December. The Sindhis celebrate this day to demonstrate the peaceful identity of Sindhi culture and acquire the attention of the world towards their rich heritage.

Peoples School at Tando Allahyar, operated by Taaleem Foundation, celebrated the rich Sindhi culture on 10th of December 2022. The school was decorated with traditional Ajrak and other local handicrafts. Everyone came in the brightest cultural and traditional costumes they could find. Even the teachers were dressed in traditional outfits. Students from different classes delivered speeches, sung songs, performed on regional songs and did short skits for the audience. In the end, the Principal appreciated the teachers and students for making this event memorable.

Taaleem Foundation with collaboration of PPL is managing and has been conducting training on different following trades in TFEC Sui;

• Dress Making for Male & Female students
• General Electrician training for male students
• Mobile Phone Repairing training for male students
• Balochi Embroidery training for Female students

Through TFEC Sui a series of training programs is being conducted for the male & Female students of Tehsil Sui and surrounding areas. The objectives of the ceremonies were to present the progress of TFEC Sui with honorable guests, Distribution of prizes among the top 3 students of Mobile Repairing, General Electrician and female students of dress making. During the ceremonies a total number of 242 Certified professionals including 106 females got the certificates.

On both days, during the ceremony the detailed presentation was given through a visual journey in which the intervention of the TFEC were briefly explained by the campus manager.

The Guests also shared their views and appraised the services of Taaleem Foundation with suggestion to further expand the program for the economic and social up lifting of the communities of District Dera Bugti. They also confessed that it was the result of Taaleem Foundation’s services that the rural masses capacities were enhanced and that they are now facilitating their families. This would prove a better step for livelihood improvement, they added.

The Senior Manager Sui said that TFEC is striving to promote equal opportunities for male and female at the grass-root level to increase income level of the poor; and providing technical skills to deserving local communities.

Manager SUI, being the Chief Guest at the first event appreciated the efforts of TFEC in building the capacity of youth for livelihood improvement. While congratulating the participants, he said they should further improve their skills and be part of the development arena.

DC Dera Bugti , Mr Mumtaz Ali Khetran shared his views and appreciated the efforts of the students who completed the courses and also acknowledged the services of TFEC in building the capacities of communities for making their livelihood better and reduction of poverty. He said that TFEC was serving the local public in development of Personnel and providing professional skills to the communities through professional approach.

Col. Nadeem, Commandant Sui Riffles, shared in his view that it was very amazing and an eye opener for him that TFEC had been providing such commendable services in this area. “I am glad to see the intervention of TFEC for the socio-economic uplift of the communities”, he said. “I am extremely delighted to have visited a very dynamic and useful institute. TFEC is doing a wonderful job and changing the lives of people of the area”, he added.

The Prizes and certificates were distributed by the Guests among the students of different trades. TFEC has also presented the VTI Product gift to the honorable guest.

November 23, 2022 – Taaleem Foundation establishes a skill center for women at Kila Saifullah in Balochistan with 65 girls enrolled within one month of its inception. The centuries old patriarchal system in Balochistan confined the lives of the women to their houses; thus pushing this equally able human resource to the clutches of illiteracy. So, for these women limited to their houses, this skill center is a forward-looking initiative for social development and women empowerment. Through this project the women of the area will be trained in indigenous traditional trades, which will enable them to earn bread and butter for themselves and add to their families’ financial cash flow. This will further raise the element of professionalism in Kila Saifullah district – bordering Afghanistan – where human development index is otherwise very low.

November 18, 2022 – Children learn about health care through interesting activities besides books. Kids have a better chance of living a long and healthy life when schools maintain hygiene and educate them about health. As part of this lesson, students learn and practice hygiene through a variety of fun activities.  Taaleem Foundation Health Initiative (TFHI), therefore, monitors and drives health initiatives at TF Grammar Schools. Today, Hygiene activities are practiced in TF Grammar School Zhob to make them learn healthy habits.  Activities such as healthy food versus junk food activity done by class 1, teeth brushing activity by nursery class, and hand-washing activity in playgroup.

Mr. Faiz Ullah appreciated the efforts of management and also impressed by the new established projects of V.T.I and non-formal school. He said that “I am too much motivated after visiting this school and it ensured me to contribute full support in future.” He also made commitment that he will arrange seminars in next session for admissions campaign.  Besides these he also distributed chairs to non-formal students.

Besides books there are other activities too which help kids to learn about health-care. Maintaining hygiene in schools and educating kids about health gives them a better chance to live a healthy life. This lesson will provide a variety of fun activities for students to learn and practice hygiene, so they can get into the habit for themselves. Lack of awareness of hygiene’s health benefits contributes to poor health among school children. To educate students on health and hygiene Taaleem Foundation Health Initiative (TFHI) celebrated a Health and Hygiene week in TF Grammar Schools. Today, the ‘Health and Hygiene Week is practiced in TF School Sui to protect their students from germs and infectious diseases. Through Art-cards and colorful paintings kids are taught how to take care of their health and what measures should be done on regular basis. Through these activities young kids are able to learn some basic basic good habits in a fun way like washing hands, taking shower, keeping home clean, Brush and Floss, and the use of dustbin.
