On 3rd March 2022, Deputy Commissioner Kila Saifullah, Mr Hafiz Muhammad Qasim held a meeting with the Principals of TFGS Kila Saifullah and TFGS Muslim Bagh to discuss the admission campaign for the academic year 2022. Both principals updated the Deputy Commissioner/Chairman School Syndicate about TF response to COVID related income loss and enrollment in the school. He was further informed that Taaleem Foundation had decided to waive off admission fee for all students seeking admission to TF Grammar School System this year. Principals requested his kind support in patronizing the admission campaign for students in the school as a special initiative of its kind. The DC listened very carefully the enrollment challenges and responded positively. He assured his full cooperation as Chairman of both schools.
The meeting of Sui School Syndicate was held on 17th Feb 2022 at TFGS Sui. Mr. Mumtaz Ali Khetran, DC Dera Bugti/Chairman School Syndicate chaired the meeting. The meeting was attended by Mr. Abdul Razzaq Executive District Officer, Mr. Amir Khan (parent), Ms. Kosar Riaz Principal TFGS Sui and Ms. Salma Kanwal SLT, TFGS Sui. Ms. Shagufta Noreen, COO of Taaleem Foundation attended the meeting on invitation. The Principal apprised the participants of the academic performance of the school during the preceding year. The Chairman and all the members applauded the efforts of the school management for having earned first place in TF Board of Examination during the year. She also apprised of the status of new admissions, which was encouraging. Besides, she called for discussing the issues like shortage of water, electricity & gas connections and adding more pick & drop vehicles for the students. Chairman School Syndicate appraised the educational standard of the institution and assured his full support to resolve the issues being faced by the school. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks.
The new project in AJK titled “Youth Empowerment and Energy Conservation for Supporting STEM, NRM, and Rural Development” was launched on 22nd of February 2022. His Excellency Mr. Deewan Ali Khan Chughtai, Minister Elementary & Secondary Education (E&SE) Govt. of AJK graced the event as chief guest.
Dr Zafar Iqbal Qadir – Chairman, Taaleem Foundation Board of Directors introduced the project details along with the impact the project would create in Pir Chanasi – Muzaffarabad.
Mr.Ashiq Ahmed Khan Scientific Representative EVK2CNR CNR shared the NRM Perspective. Mr. Mohammad Akbar Country Operation Manager for Pakistan (IsDB), Dr. Tariq H-Cheema Trustee (PAGE-UK), Ms. Fajer Rabia Pasha Executive Director PAGE and dignitaries from GOAJK & Development sector participated in the event.
This project is jointly funded by Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and Pakistan
Alliance for Girls Education (PAGE-UK). Through this project, 10 institutions of Elementary & Secondary Education in AJK will be upgraded into Smart Community Hubs through deployment of IT-infrastructure, e-Learning platform, educational technologies and solar energy for providing digital/STEM education, skill development, biodiversity conservation and economic uplift of this neglected area.
Worthy minister E&SE appraised this innovative idea of digital education leading to natural human resource development, resource management, conservation of biodiversity, women empowerment and integrated rural development. He assured full support on behalf of GOAJK towards its successful implementation. He also appreciated both the donors for supporting the neglected areas of AJK for such development initiatives.
The ceremony was concluded with the word of thanks by Taaleem Foundation.
The Annual prize distribution ceremony was held by TFGS Sui on 17th of Feb 2022 to acknowledge the performance of the students and teachers who performed exceptionally well throughout the year and especially in BOE 2021. Mr. Abdul Hameed Korai, Assistant Commissioner Sui graced the occasion as Chief Guest while Ms. Shagufta Noreen, COO TF presided the ceremony. They distributed certificates among the best performers. During her address, Ms. Noreen applauded the performance of TFGS Sui during the previous academic session, wherein this school has bagged maximum number of positions in the annual Board of Examination. Besides, the performance of staff and the management also remained equivalently excellent. The school was placed in the top position in the chain of TF Grammar School System. The chief guest, during his address congratulated the management of TFGS Sui for having performed so well during the year. He encouraged the students to continue making their teachers and parents proud with their hard work and intellect. He appreciated the tableau staged by the young artists. Towards the end, the chief guest and COO distributed merit certificates and prizes to the teachers and students who excelled during the year. The ceremony ended with a vote of thanks by Ms. Kausar Riaz, Principal TF Grammar School Sui.
APM is an annual feature of Taaleem Foundation where all the management and academic head get together to review the past and plan for the coming session. This year the meeting was convened at TF Grammar School Sui, district Dera Bugti in Balochistan during the third week of February.
Ms. Shagufta Noreen, Chief Operating Officer chaired the meeting. She was assisted by Ms. Khajista Sikandar, Manager HR. All Principals of TF Grammar School System actively participated in discussions related to policy review, performance review, academic review and future planning.
On Monday, the 14th of Feb, all TF Principals visited TFGS Sui, which scored the top position during the preceding year. All principals congratulated the Sui School administration for their team work, dedication and outstanding performance.
On Tuesday, the 15th of Feb, the CEO led the discussion on academic planning for the year 2022. All principals proactively participated in the discussion and shared their goals, targets and plans for the upcoming session.
On Wednesday, the 16th of Feb, conclusive session of the APM was convened under the leadership of COO. The agenda included the review of existing policies, performance of schools/teachers/students, academic content/calendar and future planning. The day-long deliberations culminated in the following set of recommendations:
- Simplifying the banking processes to avoid delay in timely payment of salaries to staff.
- Waiving off admission fee for all students seeking admission to TF Grammar School System this year, with a view to help communities who suffered from COVID related drop in their family income.
- Inducting competent professional teachers on nation-wide open merit even if we have to make some extra investment in facilitating their stay with us.
- Focusing on students-concentric school policies for their physical, mental, emotional and intellectual growth in a balanced manner.
- Professional staff development through refresher courses and related training.
- Technology integration in delivering academic content to students, by way of exposing them more to interactive learning tools and techniques.
- Continuation of the existing prescribed books of curriculum for this year as well.
- Following the agreed curriculum with defined patterns and parameters.
- Expanding the IT infrastructure in the schools having more students population.
- Adding 2 more e-Labs in TFGS Mastung, Sui and Zhob early this year.
- Inculcating the spirit of inquisitiveness and creativity among students of all ages.
- Encouraging co-curricular and extra-curricular activities at schools.
- Collecting and sharing intellectual/creative inputs from teachers/students for quarterly magazine of the organization.
As a special agenda item, COO discussed with the Principals about the possibility of upgrading our schools by adding a campus of Virtual University of Pakistan. She briefed them about the recent negotiations held with the management of VU and sought their assistance in facilitating the same. The Principals were receptive of the idea and committed their utmost support and facilitation to achieve this milestone.
The COO also encouraged the Principals of all schools to look for the possibility of adding vocational training institute on campus.
Executive Director PAGE Ms. Fajer Rabia Pasha and COO Taaleem Foundation (TF) Ms. Shagufta Noureen today signed the co-financing framework agreement between the two organizations. Dr. Zafar Qadir, who chairs the boards of both organizations witnessed the signing ceremony. Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education (PAGE) has agreed to provide a matching grant for an Islamic Development Bank-funded project in AJK. The agreement outlines the co-financing parameters of a technology-enabled education project in Muzaffarabad that supports women empowerment, natural resource management, and integrated rural development. The project paves the way for the two organizations to jointly work for the development sector.
A memorandum of understanding between Taaleem foundation and Kafalah Trust is signed here at Kafalah office, Islamabad. The document is duly endorsed with the signature of Chief operating officer (Ms. Shagufta Noreen) and Managing Director (Mr. Imran Bashir) Kafalah Trust.
Mr. Muhammad Farooq Azam Manager services coordinated this collaboration for the skill development of the peoples of Sui, Dera Bughti. Ms. Shagufta Noreen briefly described the motive of Taaleem foundation for this training. She also discussed how both organizations can work together for the most marginalized communities of rural Blaochistan.
Co-Curricular activities offer students an exposure to a variety of skills. TF Sui conducts the following set of activity programs like art & craft, coloring, sketching, digital story telling etc. on every Friday for promoting confidence, health and well-being. The students participate in various co-curricular activities within school as well as inter-school competitions.
On 26th Jan 2022 the Assistant Commissioner Sui Mr. Abdul Hameed Korai inspected various Education facilities in TF Grammar School Sui. He also visited classrooms, laboratories at the school and interacted with students & teachers. He showed pleasure over 100 percent result and appreciated principal for providing conducive classroom environment to the students.
Assistant Commissioner Sui, Mr. Abdul Hameed Korai visited TFGS Sui. During visit, he was briefed about the role of Taaleem Foundation in educating social change, uplifting educational standards of the area and e-learning services. He appreciated the school management for maintaining quality schooling through online classes. Moreover, he visited state of the art e-labs, computer labs and classrooms. He praised the vision and mission of Dr Zafar Iqbal Qadir (Chairman TF) and assured every possible support in taking the institution to new horizons of success and development. Commenting on the overall atmosphere of the school he said, it is so captivating and upto the mark that can nurture the educational standard of Tehsil Sui.
