COO undertakes Inception Visit to Khanewal

On 3rd June 2023 Ms. Shagufta Noreen, COO along with her team undertakes extensive consultative meetings with the key stakeholders of the project: “Quality Schooling for the Vulnerable: e-School Solution for Khanewal”. The team comprised Dr Anees Farooque (Project Manager) and Mr. Imran Khalil (Technology Support Officer). Ms. Fatima from Rehmat Foundation also joined the team.

The team on Mr. Muhammad Sohaib, the Chief Executive Officer of the District Education Authority in Khanewal and Dr. Sumera, the Deputy District Education Officer Jahanian. Mr Sohaib warmly welcomed the team on behalf of School Education Department. He was very curious and excited about the upcoming technology intervention. Ms Noreen briefly described the project objectives, scope of work, selection of schools, and proposed interventions for the deployment of an e-school system in the district.

The meeting commenced with an overview of the project’s primary objectives, emphasizing the urgent need to leverage technology for enhancing educational outcomes and addressing the challenges faced by traditional classroom settings.

The scope of work was then discussed in detail. It was determined that the e-school system would be implemented in a phased manner across selected schools within the district. The initial phase would focus on primary schools with the possibility of expansion to higher education institutions in subsequent phases in other schools of the district.

The COO shared project key components, including the development of a robust online platform with a comprehensive curriculum, interactive learning materials, teachers training and missing facilities. The platform would also facilitate virtual classrooms, enabling students to engage with teachers and peers, fostering collaborative learning experiences.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment from the School Education Department to work closely towards executing the project effectively. With ongoing collaboration and dedication, the project is poised to create a positive and lasting impact on the education sector, shaping the future of learners.
