7th February 2024 – Chairman Taaleem Foundation, Dr. Zafar Qadir, accompanied by former Secretary IT, Mr. Farooq Awan, and a leading entrepreneur / philanthropist Mrs. Masooma Awan visited the government schools in AJK, where TF has deployed EdTech solution of e-School along with the STEM education vocational training facility for local youth. TF has transformed 10 government schools in Pir Chinasi, Muzaffarabad into smart community hubs, adequately equipped to provide digital education and skill enhancement, with a focus on natural resource conservation and alternate sources of energy. The project is partly funded by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB). The purpose was to assess the progress of a project.
The guests were briefed on TF’s interactive education model, linking these Tele-centers to Islamabad for STEM education and certified courses. Mrs. Masooma Awan praised the local women’s interest in skills and emphasized the need for market linkages. Dr. Zafar Qadir urged effective use of the hubs and proposed adding nutritional and health support initiatives. Mr. Farooq Awan suggested integrating agriculture-based interventions to further support natural resource conservation. Chairman TF appreci` ated the team for serving the less privileged segment of society.
