Advisory Board
Professor Mansoor Akbar Kundi has been a Director at Taaleem Foundation. He is currently working as Executive Director at the ‘Higher Education Commission’ at Islamabad. His services for the promotion of education and social change in Pakistan remain remarkable. His insight and passion for educating a social change helped the foundation replicate the model successfully into other areas of Balochistan. He has been significantly contributing in arranging quality human resource for Taaleem Foundation from the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Mr. Orya Maqbool Jan Abbasi has also been a Director at Taaleem Foundation. He developed Sarawan Public School in Mastung during his tenure as Deputy Commissioner there. He later handed over the school to the management of Taaleem Foundation. The school at Mastung is a proof of his devotion towards the people of Balochistan. At various fora, he has stressed the need of education and has constantly kept himself engaged in raising awareness among the general public. Besides being a civil servant, he is also a renowned columnist, poet, analyst and creative writer. He regularly writes Urdu columns for Daily Express, Pakistan. He has received national awards, including the best Urdu columnist in 2004. He has also written a book of his columns titled "Harf-e-Raaz".
Mr. Abdullah Butt is a leading consultant for Tele-health and e-learning in the region. He has been the co-founder & Chief Operation Officer (COO) for ION ME&A – a $ 26 million company, funded by Pharos fund, Cisco & Ameritech, with Goldman & Sachs as its financial advisors and underwriters, based at Dubai Internet City, UAE. He is currently managing two leading technology houses named ‘PhoneCast’ and ‘TeleCare’ as CEO. He is also the President of ‘Association of Call Centers Operators-Pakistan (ACCO) in Pakistan.
Major General (R) Hamid Mahmood is the lead consultant on technology. Having Masters degree in Engineering from Cranfield University, UK, he worked as the Senior Telecommunication Professional, responsible for planning, supervision and provision of all telecom and Information Technology services to the Pakistan Army for over 15 years. He has the experience of heading ‘Special Communications Organization’ (SCO) – a public sector telecom company for three years with over 5,000 employees, providing Telecomm Services in AJ&K and GB. The General also has strong expertise in spectrum management and allied technological solutions.
Dr Farah Naz is a renowned health professional, known for her skill-mix of competence, commitment, passion and humanitarianism in the development sector. She has been active part of the national teams fighting polio, TB and measles in Pakistan. She carries a rich experience of public health to her credit, of having worked with UNICEF (looking after Mothers, New-born and Child Health program), Mercy Corps (TB control program) and World Health Organization (extended program of immunization).
Ms. Sadiya Qureshi is an expert in the fields of training & development, human resource management, Project Management and Geographic Information System (GIS). She holds a Masters degree in Computer Science from Gomal University D.I. Khan, Pakistan. She started her career with Taaleem Foundation in 1992 and left as Manager HR in 1995 to join Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL). She has worked as Senior Manager GIS in PTCL. She has Facilitated T&D - Functional & Operational Restructuring Project” of Etisalat Academy, Dubai-UAE and PTCL Training Region. She has also worked as HR Assistant at American Islamic Academy – New Jersey (USA).
Mr. Waseem Ahmed is a consultant in corporate sector and passionate social activist. He has a genuine interest to work in education, human development and social justice. He earned a Master in Commerce from the University of the Punjab (PU) Lahore, Pakistan, and an MPhil in Commerce from the University of Central Punjab (UCP), Lahore, Pakistan. He carries a vast experience of serving both inland and overseas in public as well private sector and humanitarian aid & initiatives. He has been working as the General Manager at Fatima Plastics in Namibia and the Project Director at GlobBiz Plastics in South Africa. He served as a founding member and elected Vice Chairman, for one session, of the Oshikango Business Association (Namibia). Therein South Africa and Namibia, along with his professional corporate responsibilities, he contributed to various social initiatives including two major campaigns against HIV-AIDS and street crime. He has served at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Pakistan and National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) Pakistan from 2011 to 2016 at various official positions such as Provincial Liaison Officer, DRR Mainstreaming Officer and Capacity Building Specialist, etc. Both NDMA and NIDM are public sector auxiliaries under national government. Currently, he is leading a business enterprise in human development, disaster risk management and corporate services - the DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS (SMC-PVT) Ltd. - as a Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Mr. Muhammad Shahbaz is an IT professional, develops software and services mainly in the fields of VoIP, IP Telephony/PBX, Web and Cloud Computing. He is also a graduate research student at FAST-NU, Islamabad. His research interests are in the latest and advanced fields of Computer Networks, Communication Services and Cloud Computing. Besides, he has been teaching for more than 4 years before joining IT industry. He has got good vision and is passionate about effective use of modern ICT solutions and services in the fields of education and cognitive learning. At Taaleem Foundation, he is part of ongoing efforts for automating TF processes.

Ms. Majida Khurshid is a Principal of the ‘Memon Industrial and Technical Institute’ (MITI) at Karachi has consented to support the organization in her voluntary capacity and will guide, manage, supervise and monitor the skill development related initiatives of Taaleem Foundation and its Vocational Training Institutes.

Mr. Miran Jan is a senior Civil Service Officer belonging to Kakar Tribe of Balochistan. He is from Administrative Cadre, who has worked in responsible assignments such as Additional Chief Secretary Balochistan and Commissioner for Kalat and Zhob Divisions. He is currently working as Registrar at Islamabad High Court. He is working as member of the Board of Directors as well as Executive Council of the organization.
Ms. Arfa Siddique - she is a Member of Balochistan Provincial Assembly, who is among alumnus of TF Grammar School, Muslim Bagh. She is the first student of TF Grammar School System who has made it to the parliament. She has done BS in IT and Masters in Political Science. In Balochistan parliament, she is member of the Standing Committee on Industries, Mining, Mineral Development, Labour and Manpower; Social Welfare, Women Development, Zakat usher, Haj Auqaf, Minority Youth Affair; and Information, Sports, Culture, Archeology, Museum and Libraries. She joined the Board of Directors of Taaleem Foundation in January 2015.
Mr. Akber Khurshid is the CEO of TEC (The Education Consultancy), Singapore has consented to support the organization in his voluntary capacity and will guide, manage, supervise and monitor the academic coordination of e-School franchise of Taaleem Foundation.

Dr. Muhammad Anees Farooque is the Head of Department of School of Rehabilitation Sciences at National Institute of Medical and Social Sciences Islamabad.

Dr. Muhammad Najeeb Khan is an accomplished media professional with an academic background of community health and specialization in development sector. He is also a Quran scholar, who worked in Egypt for five years representing Pakistan as a diplomat. He is presently working at BISP in Islamabad.

Dr. Mubashir Mushtaq Daha is ​a mid-level manager in NAVTTC ​(Prime Minister’s Office). He has done his MBBS from Nisht​a​r Medical College Multan and Master of Science in Public Health from Health Services Academy (HSA) Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. He has an excellent experience ​i​n ​project management, M&E and coordination. He is supporting the organization in his voluntary capacity as Member of the Advisory Board. He ​looks after the Institutional Linkages ​in the sectors of Education, ​Public ​Health and Skill Development.

Farrah Diba Rahman - Strategic Management Consultant
Farahdiba has over 30 years’ experience of working for the British Civil Service within the Department of Education. She has also worked for several NGO’s, Private Consultancies, the BBC, and as a Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University. She takes care of Strategy and Business Development, and is an alumnus of both London Metropolitan and Sheffield Universities in the UK.

Mr. Syed Tabarak Shah is an energy sector expert with rich experience of work with USAID and other development agencies. He excels in reaching out, communications, strategic linkages and business partnerships. He is advisor to many corporate entities on business development. He is the Managing Partner of T&Z Associates and the ‘Advisor to Taaleem Foundation on CSR Support’.

Amb Shahid MG Kiani is a former career diplomat, having represented Pakistan as Ambassador to Vietnam and High Commissioner to Malaysia. He is visiting professor on International Relations. He has been regularly contributing articles on contemporary and social issues to the annual publication of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan “The Gazette”. He regularly appears as a guest on PTV World discussing foreign policy & social subjects, especially of interests to Pakistan.

Barrister Rizwan Bari is Bar-at-Law from Lincolns Inn, UK. He is ‘Senior Legal Advisor’ to Allied Bank of Pakistan and ‘Chief Consultant Legal’ to Ministry of Interior, Government of Pakistan. Besides being the Managing Partner of ‘Bari Law Associates’, he is a visiting faculty on corporate law to various universities of Pakistan. He has been the Legal Advisor to Bank Alfalah in the past. He is Advisor to Taaleem Foundation on Legal Affairs and Resource Mobilization.

Sardar Altaf Khan Jaffar is a law graduate​, working as Director Mohtasib Zhob division​ in Balochistan​. Previously he ​worked as Additional Secretary​ in the Prosecution Department of the Government of Balochistan.​ H​aving​ strong social relations in the region​,​ he ​remained​ elected Pre​sident of ​the ​district ​Bar Associations​ of Loralai as well as Musakhel​.​

Shahab Hassan is a Senior Management Professional with MS in Engineering from USA and having vast Experience in the engineering industry including Pak Suzuki Motor Co Ltd, Pakistan Steel Mills etc. As Chief Operating Officer (C.O.O) he is responsible for all operational matters of MITI.
